I always find the festival experience so immersive, in the very best way. But, having now been to the Isle of Wight Festival 2018, and for it’s 50th Anniversary year celebration particularly, I am starting to suffer withdrawal a little bit more than I expected. The entire weekend was a blur, as there was just so much to take in and such an abundance of incredible acts, it was impossible to make clear decisions as we just couldn’t get to see it all. To be with all those other festival goers and stand in awe as artist after artist thrilled across so many stages, just heaven. That is what it is; to love music so much that you passionately stand swaying endlessly to catch that one song, that one track, that sends a shiver down your spine and makes your soul swell, all the while sharing the experience with tens of thousands of others in the crowd. On the opening day, we caught The Wombats in The Big Top who cemented the closing spot for the night and set the festival off in great form. We fortunately got to the Hard Rock Stage a few times over the weekend as well and heard stunning artists like KilliT and Hannah Paris. We met legendary DJ Rusty Egan and heard him spin. We even ran into dishy Colin Firth! Hearing some of the main-stage acts were once-in-a-lifetime chances and with artists like Nile Rodgers, Rita Ora, Kasabian, Sheryl Crow, The Killers, Manic Street Preachers and Depeche Mode, this was an epic collection of newer and seasoned artists that left everyone floating and thankful they got to be a part of the experience. But, fear not, the festival has just announced today that early bird tickets for The Isle Of Wight Festival 2019 go on sale starting 9 a.m. Friday morning.
